Contains over 100 pages of new textI purchased the original _Eat-Clean Diet_ book when it came out a few years ago, and used the principles in it to lose sixteen pounds (two dress sizes). Recently, I've been a little more lax in my eating, so I purchased this book last week to help motivate me to get back on track with my eating for the new year.
Before purchasing this newer edition, I was worried that it would be very similar to the first version of the book, but, as Reno explains, it contains over 100 pages of new text. While there are some chapters that are similar in both books (like chapters on the importance of drinking water and eating breakfast), there are a lot of new ideas. If you are trying to decide whether to purchase the older, original edition of this book or this one, I would recommend buying this one since it contains more recent information about nutritional studies. If, like me, you already own the original book, I think you'll still find the ideas in here useful and inspirational.
I find Reno to be very motivating, and, if you're struggling to lose weight, you will probably find her books really helpful. The idea behind clean eating is that you eat foods that are as close to their natural state as possible, without adding in extra sugar, chemicals, etc. Eating six meals a day ensures that you never go hungry, and you don't have to worry about calorie counting.
Another great feature of this book is that she includes a vegan meal plan in it. The first edition was very centered around meat, which made it difficult for me (as a lacto-ovo vegetarian) to see how I could incorporate all of her suggestions since I wasn't about to gnaw on a chicken breast as my morning snack.
Reno also focuses much more in this edition on the environmental effects that our food choices have, citing Michael Pollan's work and the principles of films like _Food, Inc._. Since I am concerned with environmental issues, I really liked this new focus on eating locally and sustainably.
This book also contains 50 new recipes. I have not tried any of them yet, but will be sure to update my review after I have tried a few. The inclusion of quite a few vegetarian recipes is another nice feature.
I first discovered Reno in _Oxygen_ fitness magazine, where she is a monthly columnist, and last year was happy to see that Robert Kennedy Publishing (the group that publishes Reno's book and _Oxygen_) began a new magazine called _Clean Eating_. If you want even more seasonal, healthy recipes and nutrition tips, I definitely recommend subscribing to it. Just be warned, however, that it contains a lot of ads promoting Reno's books -- to an annoying degree. If you can look past those ads, it makes a nice addition to a clean-eating lifestyle.
UPDATE ON 3/1/10: I've made a few of the recipes, and all of them have turned out to be really good! In my original review, I accidentally said that the book has over 15 new recipes, but it actually has 50 new ones. If you have the original version of this, you definitely don't *need* this newer version, but the updates and success stories make it a nice addition to my collection of health books.
Room for improvementAfter reading this book I have to say I was seriously disappointed.
I read scads of news articles either online or from my fitness magazines & there is hardly a thing in this book I didn't already know before.
It's a no brainer: Stay away from sugar. Eat orgainic fruits, veggies, & protein 5 to 6 times a day either for a main meal or a snack. Only drink water & limited dairy & last but not least exercise. DUH!
It's fairly well written & the design layout is very nice. If you really don't know anything about eating well for yourself this could help you start off, but there is hardly a thing in here you can't easily find on the net.
Try [...]. I find many useful tips here & best of all its free.
thanks tosca!!!As an owner of all Tosca's "Eat Clean" books, this is one of the best! Even if you have the other books buy this one...Tosca has definitely added more information to it which makes the purchase worthwhile. I am not a big meat eater so I was happy to see that she added meal plans for vegans/vegetarians. This book has plenty of glossy photos that make it a treat to read...its easy to understand and her plan really does work for ANYONE. I dont know why it is titled a 'diet' becuz you dont feel deprived in the least~Eating clean is a lifestyle.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!I LOVE THIS BOOK. It is beautiful and informative, plus inspirational. This has to be the most gorgeous "diet" book there is. It looks like a magazine (no surprise there though!) and has luscious food pictures, beautiful beach, ocean, and lifestyle photos. It is easy to read, with short chunks of concise information. This is not a book about diet only, it is more like a guide to a happy, healthy life. It is the first one of Tosca Reno's books that I have bought and I am so very happy with it. Thanks Tosca!!!
Same old Same oldWhen I order from Amazon I rely fairly heavily on these personal reviews so I felt compelled to share my experience with this book to help others. In short this book is a whole lot of the same old same old. The first 13 chapters are nothing more than a repeat of all of the information that books, newspapers, magazines, etc., have been saying for years. There are full chapters on subjects like sugar, longevity, and basic exercise. Then finally you get to chapter 14 which actually sets out the eat clean plans...two pages each...nothing new! This eat clean diet is a whole lot of infomercial and not alot of substance! In case I am not making myself clear....SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Great book for inspiration, education and reference. Not to mention the recipes! This is one of Tosca's better books because it has tons of info, tips and inspiration on the Eat-Clean Diet philosophy. It is full of "eye candy" with striking photos on nearly every page of the thick glossy paper. Sprinkled throughout are "Dear Tosca" letters from readers with inspiring testimonials, as well as small boxes of tip items. There are also numerous info-boxes with a wide variety of topics such as "Common Foods and Fiber Counts," "My Clean Oats and What I Put on Them," "Making Water Better," and "Solutions for a Busy Day."
We also get to read Tosca's story, sprinkled throughout the book. She knows what it is like to be fat (weighed 204 pounds at one time!). "I am a normal woman with everyday issues, just like everyone else, and for a long time, I carried excess weight, too." She encourages us, "There is infinite joy to be had in living life with a healthful, lean physique" and tells us we are in good company because stars like Angelina Jolie use the clean diet approach (according to tabloids).
There are 17 chapters, and each one is color coded at the bottom right hand corner for ease of flipping through the chapters. At the beginning of the book we learn the Eat-Clean principles, which are also summarized neatly on one page, and include for example eating six meals a day and combining lean protein with complex carbs at each mini-meal. We also learn what to expect, the basics of metabolism, and the power of water (I just wish she had told us what kind is best--distilled? Filtered? Spring?).
The middle chapters deal with getting inspired, shopping clean, eating clean while traveling and in social situations (even includes a chart for fast food dining), and how to exercise. The latter chapters involve cellulite, loose skin and sags (one entire chapter on that!), longevity, superfoods, meal plans and grocery lists. Gluten-free and vegan meal plans are included. Some of the superfoods include game meat, coconut, seafood, chia seeds, and kefir. She explains how you can benefit from 5 cents a day worth of flaxseeds.
Finally, there are 50 new recipes with mouth-watering photos for nearly all of them. These are divided into breakfast, starters, salads, soups/stews, proteins, complete meals and desserts. The desserts include a couple of biscotti recipes that look like something from Starbuck's, as well as chocolate covered bananas. And though I am a raw fooder, I have to admit that "picante frittata" looks mighty tempting! Each recipe has nutritional info per serving, number of servings, prep time and cooking time. After that is a chapter on frequently asked question and answers, and one with the eat-clean diet at a glance.
This is a great book for inspiration, education and reference. Not to mention the recipes!
My client lost 10 pounds in the first week. This is the book I use with my Personal Training clients. I just started a new team for a Biggest Loser style competition. My team is using this book and one of my team members lost 10.5 pounds in week #1 using the Cooler plan #1. We will switch him to Cooler Plan 2 for his long term program but week one.. WOW. Eating clean is the way to go and this book makes it simple.
It has all the menu's, exchanges, shopping lists and everything you need to be successful. I love the philosophy of Tosca and read Oxygen magazine as well. Basically, if you want to look good, you have to put good things in your body. She makes it easy.
Anyone can work with this. Plus its' got great pics, it's to the point! Easy read.
Clean eating - basics reinventedI was trying to find a diet that I thought my husband and I could stick to and ordered this book and her workout and journal. When I got them I wasn't impressed by any of them.
A prior reviewer had said, what I now agree with, this is just the basic diet that most people are told to follow to lose weight: don't eat processed foods, fast foods, sugar and eat more vegtables and fruit and drink a lot of water and exercise.
I sent the book back because I figured I had already learned this diet from all the years of reading diet books, magazine articles, etc.
Don't waste your money on this book - you can get the same information from any health magazine you pick up.
New but not improvedI purchesed the previous Eat Clean Diet book by Tosca and feel that the previous edition does a far better job explaining how the diet works and what kind of foods you should eat and why. This version is more about inspirational stories, but if you're serious about the diet, buy the previous edition (with the green cover and tosca's arms full of produce). Good luck!
Little to be desired...I thought that I was onto something when I bought this book but with each chapter, I find myself saying to the "author": you said that already in the previous chapter. In essence, she keeps repeating herself with no new information. I also skeptical about some of the info she presents...I believe that equal emphasis on nutrition and exercise gives you that great body we see in magazines.I am sure that an 80% focus on nutrition and only 10% focus on exercise, was not how she or the many fitness professionals out achieve their super bodies...come on everyone knows, when you lose the fat through nutrition, you better work your butt to get that toned and taunt bodies otherwise you would still look like a prune. Finally, what's up with those redundant testimonials - each person keep saying the same thing as if paid to do so - WHAT'S NEW!!! I think they were included to help with the page count - but substance please, no fluff.
Merely OKI bought this book along with two of her cookbooks in one of the package deals that Amazon has and boy am I glad Amazon has a good return policy! While I feel her nutritional principles are sound (they aren't new and they aren't hers) I was completely overwhelmed and turned off by a picture of her on almost EVERY page! If you are looking for a woman who it seems like is as obsessed with herself as Martha Stewart is, this book is for you! If you would like a book that gives you good nutritional advice without all the hype and how completely wonderful her life is and how incredible she is (!) then don't bother!
The recipe section is decent - in fact if you buy this book and can tolerate her everywhere, by all means use the recipes and DON'T bother with the other cookbooks - recycled info with a lot of shiny pictures!
I have more energy now than I can use.First, this book is beautiful. The whole book is full-color glossy pages of beautiful images. I don't know how they were able to produce it for such a low purchase price... And it was very easy reading- not scientific (like the Dr. OZ book).
I have been following the basics of this book- no sugar, lean proteins with complex carbs at each of 6 small meals a day (I haven't tried any of the recipes- except the oatmeal breakfast, which I LOVE) and lots of water. I have more energy now than I can use in a day! There are actually TOO many hours in the day now- for real. I find myself saying "Gee, what can I do now"... instead of "I'm ready for a nap".
I have so much energy, that I am able to workout with much more intensity than ever before and am seeing results in much shorter time.
I haven't wanted to go without sweeteners though, so I've started using organic apple butter (recommended in the book) instead of sugar (in my oatmeal) and it's fantastic. Good for you and very sweet and low in calories.
I'm thrilled with this book and the results. SO worth it.
Useless book (or a magazine?)I bought this book following an ad in a woman's magazine which touted this as an unique diet. The story said that a woman in this diet got great benefits. She mentions "I begin the day with a freshly squeezed lime in water...." etc and the story also said that the eat-clean diet has many such tips in losing weight. But what I found out was disappointing. There's no valuable information and essentially the book just summarizes all available info from other diets such as south beach etc and just puts some glossy pictures of the author and tries to sell it as a new diet. This book is a bogus, its a woman's magazine for the most part with colorful pics and hackneyed information which everybody knows. In one line Tosca Reno writes, "if you are hungry, the body is just fooling you to be thirsty...so don't eat, drink water" Wow! Utter nonsense. I have returned this book.
Good introduction to the topicThis is a good introduction to eating sensibly and exercising wisely. It is apparent that Tosca Reno, the author, has motivated many people to change their eating habits and lifestyle. The graphics and layout are bright and attractive and the writing is easy to follow. The recipes are straightforward and nutritious.
However, there are over 39 photographs of Tosca scattered throughout the book...Tosca gardening, Tosca running, Tosca smiling, Tosca posing, Tosca.... you get the idea. While she looks great, it begins to get a bit annoying to see all this self-promotion. It is quite unnecessary. Another issue is that the author will sometimes quote scientific facts without mentioning the sources. The credibility of her advice would be much stronger if she had some references at the back of the book.
Overall, a good book that would be better if Tosca kept a lower profile.
ehWell, After recieving this book, and looking through it, I was slightly diappointed.
This is partially my fault for not researching more into the book, But I realized is a lifestyle book, not a recipe book. This book is also aimed more towards women, again my fault for not researching lol.
The recipes themseves are average for the most part, and not for people on a fix income, Due the prices of some of the ingridents.
overall FOR ME, I wasn't to impressed
So glad I purchased this book.I purchased the original Eat Clean Diet book a while back and liked it. My doctor told me a few months ago that eating six small meals a day with lean protein and complex carbohydrates is absolutely the best way to eat. I subscribe to Oxygen and Clean Eating magazines, so I know all about how to accomplish this way of life. My problem has always been putting the knowledge into action. That's where this book comes in for me. I hesitated to buy it, but decided that my life could use some "recharging". I am so glad that I bought this book! It is truly inspiring and has gotten me off the couch and really eating clean. This book put into perspective not only what I was doing to my own body, but also the example I've been setting for my children. I always figured that eating clean was complicated, time consuming, and expensive. This book is extremely motivating and gives tons of tips on how eating clean can be so simple and affordable even for a busy mom with three picky children. Thanks to Tosca for updating and expanding the original book.
This book finally makes sense and changed my life!I read the original Eat Clean Diet and this new "recharged" version. I have to say that after reading, watching, and listening to all the different versions of dieting and exercise, this is the book that teaches you HOW to eat correctly. Eating Clean has now become my way of life.
Eating clean is about avoiding processed foods and learning how important proteins, vegetables, and complex carbohydrates are to your body. The book equips you with the knowledge of how to shop by providing a clean grocery list, recipes, exercise, eating-out menu advice, and so much more.
Tosca is a true inspiration because she is a living example of how an overweight forty-something woman can go from frumpy to fabulous by eating clean and working out. This book makes sense! Forget the strange diet books. This is the one that will teach you how to live and eat healthy.
Especially recommended for personal reading lists and community library 'Health & Medicine' reference shelvesLosing excess weight is relatively easy compared to keeping from regaining those unwanted pounds. That's why "The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged: Lasting Fat Loss That's Better than Ever" is so highly recommended for anyone that struggles with roller-coaster weight losses and gains as they try diet after diet after diet. Now in a significantly updated and expanded new edition, "The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged" focuses on motivation as the foundation for good exercise, good eating, and good attitude -- all of which are fundamental to good health. Enhanced with menus and some fifty recipes for dishes that are as nutritious and delicious as they are thoroughly 'kitchen cook friendly', "The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged" includes vegan and gluten-free dietary plans, as well as critically important advice on how to adhere to a good diet when dining out or at a party. Of special note is the handy 'Eat-Clean Diet at a Glance' quick reference suggestion. Superbly organized and written, "The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged" is especially recommended for personal reading lists and community library 'Health & Medicine' reference shelves.
Eat cleanI think I am just overloaded with diet books and healthy eating. If someone had never dieted or tried to eat healthy, this book is as good as any other. Otherwise, more of the same.
Good book: Some observationsI am still reading the book (I'm on chapter 12). I purchased my copy earlier this year from a bookseller that had an extra discount on it. As many have already stated, most of what is said isn't anything that you can't find on a well-researched website, blog, or forum. I also agree with the self-promotion being a little "over the top."
The pictures are some of the best I've seen in any book. I noticed something that was stated as factual when every medical doctor from Dr. Mercola from Dr. Stephen Pratt and over medical doctors have various MEDICAL opinions on: artificial sweetners.
I agree that if one is attempting to eat clean, they should eliminate as much refined sugar as possible. There are MEDICALLY DOCUMENTED studies that say that artificial sweeteners are safe, and others that say they are not. Some say that splenda is safe, while others say that aspartame sweeteners are not safe.
Dr. Mercola uses only stevia. With that said, on page 220 of the book, Tosca lists these and other artificial sweetneners as being dangerous and "linked to cancers."
She states this as a fact and did not quote any medical report, study--nothing.
Unfortunately, many fitness professionals make and continue to make this gross error when in actuality, most are stating their opinion based on their own personal research. This issue is one that is highly debatable in the medical and nutritional circles.
Also (I was unable to locate the specific chapter, but will do an update when I find it), Tosca tell us to avoid ALL saturated fat. Yet, in other sections, she encourages us to eat meats that are LOW in saturated fat like chicken (which is low in saturated fat compared to lamb and beef for example).
Unless a person is a vegan or vegetarian (and even some vegetarians eat meat occassionally) it is utterly impossible to avoid ALL saturated fat.
She should have clarified and not (perhaps) taken the assumption that the readers would know exactly what the implication is to say that we should avoid foods HIGH in saturated fats and provide examples.
Me personally, because I read labels every time I grocery shop (even on items that I buy regularly just in case the manufacturer tries to sneak something in), I have a cap as to how much saturated fat I will allow per serving on EVERY MEAL and food item. If anything is over that amount (I consider other ingredients as well), then I'm not buying it.
Otherwise, again, if you've been reading up on eating more veggies, pairing a protein with a complex carb with each meal, eating smaller meals more frequently, then this book may be a good review.
Thanks to amazon's reviews, a previous review that I read weeks ago stated that they didn't think the implant section was necessary. Thanks whoever put that in because I skipped right over it once I saw the words! I'm not interested in any implants. Again, that's her personal thing and at least she stated so with that procedure and decision.
I'm interested in becoming healthier and losing weight the healthy way. :-)
Will change your life if you let it!This book incorporates many things we already know. We know we should eat fresh foods, stay away from overly processed foods and added sugars. However, this book expands on that , provides choices, and drives the point home. Tosca Reno's writing style is enjoyable to read and the real life application techniques will work if you apply them. I have told many of my friends about this book and all have had great results. More energy, a smaller waistline, brighter skin are just a few of the bonuses. What you have to realize, however, is that this is not a diet; it is a lifestyle. You will never look at a bag of chips or cookies in the same way!
Eat Clean and Feel Recharged! This book is great just like her first book and I was impressed that it wasn't repeat information. The principles Tosca teaches will help you lose weight, reverse disease, and increase your energy levels. The book is well written and not boring like most dieting books. Also, this book is great because it's realistic and she doesn't ask you to each sticks and grass... instead the food is delicious! I disagree on a few of the health points in the book like her recommendation of lots of grain products. As a physician myself I recommend focusing on more raw vegetables and fruits because they decrease inflammation, but still this book is one of the best.
Lost 4 pounds in a little over a week!I purchased this book a week and a half ago and immediately implemented the Eat Clean principles into my diet. I have already lost four pounds! I only have 16 to go before I reach my goal. The recipes are awesome (love the sweet potato oat bars! I substitute pumpkin puree and they turn out similar) and the plan is so easy to follow. Shopping lists and practical advice for the person who wants to clean up their act and get healthy.
Great Book!Tosca Reno's books recommend a healthy diet that is the way I've always believed we should eat. You feel better and more satisfied. We have also found that just about every recipe we've tried of hers is great. They have a lot of flavor while being nutritionally rich and easy to prepare. You don't, however, have to use her recipes. This book is also about more than just food. It also covers the fact that fitness plays a part in being healthy and feeling well. I haven't hesitated to recommend this to anyone I know.
Easy to follow and fantastic way to live!I am a full time college student and a mother with a 2 year old and a 6 month old at home. At first I thought following the cooler plans and eating clean would be difficult but I was wrong! I was able to find all of the "weird" (really, not that weird) foods - like flaxseed - at my local grocery store and following Tosca's principle of clean left overs has saved me time and money! I don't spend money getting fast food on campus, I don't spend money getting junk when I have to be out running errands with the kids all day. I have lost 3 pounds in the first week and busted through the plateau I had been lingering at for months. And the best part - my 2 year old loves the oatmeal! I make it in the slow cooker over night and he will cheerfully eat a bowl or two every morning. He will even eat it cold! This book is a time saver, a money saver, and I believe a life saver!
Best Diet Book Ever!I have purchased tons of diet books, if you come to my house you'll see that at least 50% of my library are cooking/diet books. Before I purchased the Eat-Clean Diet book, I read over reviews, visited Tosca Reno's website, and tried several of the recipes posted on the Eat Clean website. This was enough for me to make my decision. This book is not so much about "dieting", but eating clean, eating healthy, and eating more so that you don't have ups and downs on your sugar levels that become in cravings for fatty and sugary foods. Like Tosca says, by keeping your body satisfied with the correct combination of foods, your metabolism will accept those and start moving faster to make room for your next meal. I thought I was going to end up gaining more weight, since you eat a lot more, but she's definitely done her homework. Once your body adjusts to the new and healthy eating, it will start thanking you by shedding those unwanted pounds, oh, and giving you lots and lots of energy!
Very pleased! This is my First Tosca Reno book and I have been following her for a short time through Robert Kennedy's Oxygen magazine. As I read this book, I feel it is so well written, that even a person without any fitness, or nutritional background can feel motivated and reach their weight loss goals as well as gain priceless knowledge on what you can eat and how your body responds to it, no matter where you are or how busy you are. It really is as if she is reading my mind as I read a new chapter. Sometimes I even find myself saying, wow, I just said that (before reading it! LOL I have been clean eating for 9 weeks now, and have already lost 7.4lbs 4.5inches at the 6week mark (I wont weigh in again until I hit the 12 week mark, plus I lift weights). My whole family is eating clean and we are all seeing results as my husband has also lost 7lbs on the same 6wk mark and my children are doing MUCH better at school since they are nutritionally content therefore focusing better! All the testimonials are HIGHLY motivating and I love it when I reach another one in each chapter as this book is loaded with them as well as delicious recipes and tips!! I recommended this to a friend of mine who doesnt have time to workout and she has only been doing it for 1 week and has lost 3lbs! You won't be disappointed! :)
Not PracticalThis diet is extremely difficult to follow. The food alone is hard to find and very expensive. Normal people can not do this.
Eat-Clean Diet RechargedI am in the middle of the book and so far I love the book. I am excited about my new journey in eating clean.
Loved this book! This is a great book for anyone wanting a healthy lifestyle! A must read!
Something that FINALLY worked!I bought this book and then read the reviews. My sister and a co worker of my purchased this book first and were always talking about it, so naturally out of curiosity and wanting to loose weight I got it as well. I thought this book was wonderful! Some of the negative reviews say it repeats information that you hear all over the place, but in reality this book gives you a whole different thought process on food. I lost about 7lbs in just four weeks after taking on her way of thinking about food. In her book she states that exercise is only 10% of your weightloss, I found this to be true, I really only was working out maybe twice a week at first and still managed to lose the 7lbs. Her recipes are simple and actually taste good! She gives many different meal plans so there is one well suited for ANYONE! she also talks about if you are traveling what you should do so you don't ruin your eating habits. I would hardly say this is a diet, its more about changing your lifestyle and eating habits to not only lose weight but to keep it off and become a healthier person overall.
What a great book!I bought this book to help with my girlfriends diet and all I can say it is amazing. The eating clean diet principles helped me lose 20 pounds and my girlfriend 40 pounds. The book will give you step by step instructions on how to change your eating habits for the better. A must own book!
Good information but skeptical the recipe info. is correctWhile this book really inspired me (I already eat a good, "clean" diet), when I went to make some of the recipes, the serving size and the amount of food didn't add up. Like the Thai Fried Rice. I measured out the serving size and there was no way it would feed 4 people. I'm knowledgeable enough to know how to calculate the calories, etc. but given the subject matter of this book, her nutrition information about her recipes should be spot-on. That said, she has some really good information that can be helpful to the newbie or experienced nutrition nut.
Love this book!!This book has really helped me overcome some hurdles. It makes me think about everything I put in my
BODY! Since reading it I have completely given up so many things that are NOT beneficial to my health. It has made
me much more aware of the foods we eat and what they do for our overall health. Not only have I lost about 4
pounds in 3 weeks, but I just feel better! I am the mother of a 2 year old and 4 year old and I have just been
feeling so tired and in a slump. But I am trying to eat better so I can feel better and enjoy my life with my
2 little daughters!!
Excellent Transaction! The book was delivered quickly and was everything the seller described it as. I am very pleased with this entire transaction and if I need another book and they are the ones selling it, I will be more than confident from buying from them again. Have no fear, dear potential customer. You are in good hands.
Clean eating guideI love Tosca Reno. I am a huge fan of her dedication to fitness and clean eating. The book would be helpful to anyone not familiar with the 'clean eating' concept. If you are a regular reader of Oxygen magazine then you probably know most of what you need to about the diet plan already. There a few good recipes but I was disappointed there were not more.
This book is really a very detailed book of the 'clean eating' lifestyle, and I would recommend it if you do not understand it. If you are looking for recipes, as I was, buy her other cookbooks, like I plan to do. The book also had beautiful and inspirational pictures. I have been living the clean eating lifestyle for some time now, and I can attest that you will feel much better if you try it. I have also tried every diet and diet product on the market. You will not feel depraved on this diet, you will have energy, improved health overall, and your skin will look great. You actually get to eat every three hours and you will loose weight if you follow it. I say this is a 'lifestyle' not a diet, in order for it to work you have to change your lifestyle and you will see results!
This book is revolutionary!!!!I picked up this book over the weekend after reading up about Clean Eating online. I wasn't sure what to expect, but once I sat down and started reading it, WOW!
Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, its not particulary 'new' information (eat small, frequent meals, stay away from sugar, etc), but how it is presented is FABULOUS! Tosca's information and format are inspiring, motivational and fun to read...the pics are gorgeous, and I couldn't put it down!
I just started adapting my lifestyle to Clean Eating this week...looking forward to it and excited to give it a shot! Why not?
weight loss bookThis book gave wonderful information on healthy eating, gives tips on shopping and eating out, how to deal with loose skin, and much much more. It was a easy read and was hard to put down.
Good BookI think she isn't saying anything unheard of (if you are a fit lit junkie like me) but she is certainly a great example of what we need to hear again and again. Clean eating is a lifestyle so getting any of her books is a great addition to your stay fit library and she has some great ideas and encouragement to keep you going! Check out the recipes, enjoy the shopping lists. Great coffee table book. Share it with your friends! Thanks, Tosca!
Highly Recommended! This book lays out a few simple guidelines that are easy to follow and the results are priceless! I've gone 6 weeks without eating sugar or refined flours (with the exception of a few occasions) and I'm definitely noticing a difference in how I look and feel. Eating every three hours keeps my body satisfied without the cravings for sweets and treats. My focus has shifted from "I can't believe I ate that cookie" to "What can I have that will make me feel great and continue to lose weight along with the unsightly cellulite"!
YES WE CAN LEARN AT AN OLD AGEI'm 71 and I know what I should have been eating all my life but just couldn't quite keep it up. Until the age of 50 I was very small, weighing in at 99 pounds after my second son's birth. But many surgeries, etc., kept me from exercising, eating right (pity party), etc. I must use a walker, have dropped height from 5'3" to 4'11" due to multiple back surgeries. And have weighed 200 enormous pounds for 10 years or more. I recently purchased EAT CLEAN DIET RECHARGED from Amazon and I think, by George, at last I have the answer! Been eating clean just about a month and love it. Have lost 3 pounds. So has my friend who is a much smaller person than I but is diabetic. Who knows, maybe I'll switch my walker for a cane soon! The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged: Lasting Fat Loss That's Better than Ever Thanks Tosca
Consumer ReviewA lot of great recipes and guidance. I do not like to cook, therefore I am not experienced with spices, etc. This book is easy to follow and the recipes are good plus very healthy.
Nice book-- full of picturesSuch a pretty book, really thick and colorful pages, every single page has bright colorful photography on it. Very well organized, I look forward to putting her principles into use. Haven't cooked anything from it yet.
Another hit for ToscaI've read the other Eat Clean books and this is another great addition, its informative, easy to read and the layout grabs your attention. The recipes are new and look great, as with other `diet' books you sometimes have to buy a few to follow the program, i.e. one for the diet, one for workout guidance, one for recipes this is a one stop shop which you can then expand on if you choose too. Great read useful information which can change your life if your willing to try ! ;-)
Finally! An honest, straight forward approach without the gimicks! We all know if it sounds too good to be true, it is. We also know that workouts + eating healthy = a fabulous body. But how do we effectively workout and eat healthy? This book goes into those details and walks you through step-by-step. Very pleased. I would reccommend this to anyone with the determination & dedication to get the body they're dreaming of having.

Great ServiceThis book was mailed to me via the USPS in the amount of time given, and was in amazing condition when I received it. It did look like the packaging took a good beating though. I was thoroughly happy with the service.
Easy, makes sense eating! My Canadian friends and family in the North had been telling me about the Clean Eating Magazine by Oxygen for months. I'm hooked. This book is easy to read & follow. It just makes sense to improve our lifestyles.
eatig clean is great!!I think this book is an awesome life changing read. I just read about a chapter a day and feel like I am learning so much about how to just be healthier. I have been referring the book to my friends and co- workers and find it very helpful and enlightening. I have started exploring foods, especially veggies, that I never really experienced before. My sis informed me of the book and I'm glad she did. I am on my way to my weight loss goals and plan to keep eating clean for my lifetime. I just want to live longer and be healther all together. Great book!!!
Awsome Book!!!!!!I have the first book with two of the cook books and wanted more and this is it. She make this life syle look so simple that anyone can do it.
